Sandusky Jury Deliberates, Just Hope This Isn't Another Blown Case

I know it's not the Federal government and steroids,
it's much more important and sensitive than that.
I also know it's not a another political witchhunt
chasing John Edwards for chasing skirts on the dime
of his donors, it's a lot less shallow than that.
What I do know is this; if Jerry Sandusky is let
off the hook for what he is "accused" of doing to
those young boys, it will be the biggest miscarriage
of justice this side of the O.J. Simpson debacle.

It's a shame the jury can't see or hear it, but it
would have been nice if Matt, Jerry's adopted son
would have come out a little sooner and added his
testimony to that of the 14 other victims, instead
of waiting until it was too late. Matt Sandusky
now says, he too was abused by Jerry, but I'm sure
his "Mom" begs to differ, and will insist that
nothing went on in that house without her knowing
about it Zzzzzzzzzzz.

This isn't Lance Armstrong, Barry Bonds, or even
Roger Clemens, those guy were/are egotistical jocks
who wanted money and fame. This guy IS a monster
who preys on little kids. Hang him!

Roger Clemens Verdict A Product Of Minor League Prosecution

AP Photo

Roger Clemens may have been found not guilty in a
court of law this week, but it's beyond clear that
in the court of public opinion he's practically on
death row he's so guilty. The justice department
had all but a slam dunk case against him and got
beat by Roger the dodger and his trusty lawyer,
some guy named Rusty. The government had DNA
evidence, first hand accounts, and more, and yet
they couldn't close the deal.

No one here should really be surprised of this
outcome though, they botched it with Barry Bonds
too. It's been clear since even the days before
O.J. got away with murder, that if you have enough
money for great legal counsel, you have a excellent
chance of getting away it. Many of these young
prosecutors may turn out great one day, but it's
cases like this that give you an idea of why the
real good attorneys turn to the private sector for
big bucks. I can't argue what many of you are
probably thinking, and that is that their are bigger
fish to fry, and that this was a waste of money,
but if you're going to go after them, it would be
nice to get a guilty verdict once in a while.

Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds may have "gotten away
with it", but if there's any justice, the only way
they'll ever get to Cooperstown, NY is by buying a
ticket. That goes for Mark McGwire, Rafael Palmiero,
Sammy Sosa and the rest of the cheats.

Roger Clemens And Brian McNamee Saga A Sad State Of Affairs

(Doug Mills/New York Times)

To me the Roger Clemens doping story was always about
whether Clemens cheated or not. It was never about
wives who wanted to look better, suspicious spouses
warning their husbands to protect themselves from
being the fall guy, or even whether a puppy faced
Andy Petitte would lie for his buddy and mentor, but
the more I read about the proceedings now into their
fifth week, the more I wonder how many more things
not mentioned at trial took place within the Roger
Clemens circle.

It is hard to make a clear decision as to whether the
government is wasting it's time or not, because even
though it's just baseball, and there are bigger fish
to fry in the world of crime, you still can't help
but say to yourself, "He broke the law". If we
only went after big criminals, then the next time
someone stole $100 out of your pocket, we would just
have to dismiss it. A crime is a crime. Here it
appears that many crimes have taken place, the lack
of loyalty, lack of integrity, and the absence of
sportsmanship. These things may not be published in
any law journal, but for many of us they are crimes
none the less.

Holy Roller Andy Petitte Just Another Hopeless Sinner

It has gotten to the point were you really can't
trust ANYONE, or a word that comes out of their
mouth. If anyone proved that to me this week
then it's Andy Petitte. You know that guy all
Yankee fans are so happy is back, and is so well
regarded around baseball circles for being such
a straight up guy. You know the guy who didn't
know what he was taking was a banned substance
and the moment he was asked about it, had to do
the right thing and come clean, because it was
the "right" thing to do. The guy who answered
honestly when questioned about his knowledge of
whether or not Roger Clemens was taking any sort
or performance enhancing drugs, yeah, that guy.

Well throw all of that out the window, because
Mr.(Bible in Hand)Petitte, thinks he may have
misheard, misremembered, or misunderstood Roger
Clemens. I don't know about you, but it's a
little too convenient to me, and sounds quite
a bit like buyers remorse after a long time to
think this over. Maybe he thinks it's ok to
misremember because it's "the man" go after
his one time friend and brother, or maybe he
has other reasons, but whatever the reasons
are, a lie, is a lie, is a lie.

He is certainly entitled to change his mind,
and since he is not harboring a murderer I
can feel a bit better about it, but we need
to put him on the same level that we are all
on, human. Take him off the pedestal, stop
telling me about how the revelation to come
back to baseball came to you after you came
home from Church one night, and just play
baseball. This week you did do one thing
very well though. You taught us all a very
valuable lesson, you no better than we are,
or Roger Clemens for that matter.
