A Pre Thanksgiving College Football Watch List

Gary Cosby Jr./The Decatur Daily

The third weekend in November means Thanksgiving day
football for the pros,  and conference Championship games
for college football games start to wind up.  Bowl bids are
on the line and upsets carry much more weight as previously
undefeated and #1 ranked Alabama found out last week.
I told you you'd be on the edge of your seat if by some
chance that game was close, and it was. Here's what games
are worth keeping an eye on this weekend:

1. USC vs UCLA - Huge rivalry, and their ranked #17 and
#18,  Wow!  Add to that two former NFL head coaches
facing off here.  Should be interesting.

2. Texas Tech vs Oklahoma St. - The loser falls out of the top
25 for the rest of the season probably never to be seen again.
Think teams don't care about that?  Think again.

3. Stanford vs Oregon - Stanford edged out Oregon St. last
week, but I'm afraid the in state cousin may not be a victory
in their future.  Only one way to find out.

Honorable Mentions:
Rutgers vs Cincinnati
Northwestern vs Michigan St.
Iowa vs Michigan

A College Football Watch List For Your Weekend

Marvin Gentry/US Presswire

These games are really living up to the hype most weeks,
and last week was really no different.  A pretty solid
lineup all around and though this week may be no less
important it's still gonna be hard to match.

Here are a few to keep an eye on:

1. Alabama vs LSU - This game is really a no brainer.
There's alot on the line and the loser will most probably
be knocked out contention for any shot at the title.

2. Texas A&M vs Mississippi St. -Mississippi St already
showed you last week that they aren't in the same class as
Alabama yet, but a W here from either team can get them
high enough in the top ten if they run the table the rest of
the way to get them a decent BCS Bowl bid.

3. Nebraska vs Michigan St -Nebraska trying to show it
can win an important road game, and Michigan St will try
to show it can beat a ranked opponent.

Honorable Mentions:
Texas Tech vs Texas
Oregon vs USC
Oklahoma St vs Kansas St.

College Football Worth Keeping In Mind

Courtesy of University of Michigan

This feature here that has College Football games
I think are worth a look can sometimes offer a
few interesting nuggets, especially since the
season is starting to wind down. Last week the
Nebraska Penn State game was all the buzz, here
are some that you may find interesting this week.

1. Wisconsin vs Illinois
The Illini were once 6-0, now 6-4, Badgers need this
2. Nebraska vs Michigan St
Can Nebraska win tough back to back road games?
3. Penn St vs Ohio St
Two once proud programs face off to forget
4. Boston College vs Notre Dame
A holy war of sorts that ND needs to stay on course
5. USC vs Oregon
Could be huge, and the Ducks are still in the hunt
6. Cal vs Stanford
Interstate rivalry that means more than their records

BONUS: How did Alabama, South Carolina, and Florida
wind up with three cupcakes like Georgia Southern,
The Citadel, and Furman this late in the season?

College Football Games To Keep An Eye On

AP Photo

Checking out the schedule this weekend, you might
see that there are a few games of interest on tap.
Here are a few that could provide a decent amount
of entertainment if you're a college footbale fan.
Aside from the #1 vs #2 we will get next weekend
with LSU ALabama, here are a few to watch.

1. Michigan St vs Nebraska
Can the Spartans keep up the momentum on the road?
2. Illinois vs Penn St.
Penn St needs it, but will the Illini lose 3 straight?
3. West Virginia vs Rutgers
Rutgers has lost 2 games by a total of 4 points, here
they have chance to beat a ranked team
4. Oklahoma vs Kansas State
Big for Oklahoma, HUGE for Kansas State
5. Georgia vs Florida
Could mean Georgia Coach Mark Richts job
6. Stanford vs. USC
Do I really need to write anything here?

Enjoy the Football !
